  • The sweetest jasmine tea literally save my life. (I invite you to a tea session to hear my testimony of how with this tea I am walking in freedom from a health crisis.) The pearl shapes softens the steeping, but the large quantity of buds provides some bright and energetic character to the traditional floral flavor. These are the hight quality pearls. In China this particular style of pearls is referred to as "liang xun ti, which can be translated as "twice scented, one soaring / flying". It is jasmine scented two times, each time followed by a light roasting. The roasting helps the leaf to absorb the jasmines aromatics. The third and final scenting uses a particularly high quality jasmine flower without any final roasting.
  • The moniker 'berry' is actually misleading, for the raspberry is actually a cluster of drupelets around a central core. When picked, the drupelets detach from the core, unlike true berries, which stay attached. However, you're sure to remain attached to our Raspberry Green tea, which combines the sweetly tart flavor of red raspberries and premium green tea from China.

  • A lightly oxidized huang jin gui with a short roast to produce a caramelized aroma, a clean mouthfeel and a beautifully floral cup. This tea was the result of a three year experiment to create lightly oxidized huang jin gui with a full body mouthfeel. This lot was made by Mr. Lin Rui Fu in the fall of 2020 in Anxi, Fujian province. The key to achieving this full body character is performing the kill-green at midnight and a short, high-temperature roast on day where the weather's just right (not too hot, not too cold) to finish it. This tea is roasted at 130°C, which is higher than most others do because you can ruin the tea, but Mr. Lin is not afraid.

  • Ever heard that tea is for Royals? One taste of this tea and you will know why!! For those who eat dessert first. Plum candy sweet fragrance in a cup. Light in body. No astringency. Goes down too easy.

Zi Juan (ROYAL purple robe) is a relatively new cultivar on the market that is most often made into a green tea, but you cannot pass up on this black tea version. Purple leaves and buds are natural mutations in tea plants that happen in various tea growing regions. The high levels of anthocyanin in the leaf give it its purple color. Since the late 1980's the Purple Beauty cultivar has been propagated by the Menghai Research Center and through further cultivation is now being more widely planted, but the tea is still scarcely available in the US. From the Menghai region of Yunnan. It's a 2 leaf and bud pluck and grown at an approximate elevation of 3,000 feet and grown organically. An excellent Royal tea!

  • Rich chocolate and sweet orange bring a confectionary note to the gentle earthiness of pu-erh. Lively citrus lifts the blend while the warm chocolate and easygoing pu-erh are grounding and smooth. Reminiscent of a favorite treat. Francine's EVERY morning MUST have!

  • One of the five main types of tea (white, green, oolong and black being the others), pu'erh tea stands apart with its uncommonly soft earthy flavor and woodsy tones. Unlike all other teas, pu'erh (pronounced 'poo-err') is actually aged. The tea leaves go through a natural fermentation process before the tea is gently dried. This creates a cup with zero astringency and deep, rich body. Pu'erh is extraordinarily smooth and deeply refreshing. Our Pu'erh Dante (the shou variety of pu'erh) gives a clean, damp forest aroma, dried mushrooms, leather and earth. Some sweetness of figs or dates and a slight creamy flavor. Mellow and grounding. If the flavor is too strong for you, simply dilute with water (which, interestingly, doesn't work for many other teas!) Pu'erh is extremely versatile - you can steep it for as little as 30 second or 30 minutes, whatever pleases your palate. It won't get bitter and is great for multiple infusions.
